Business System Features
The focus of Urban Link is property sales and letting, both residential and commercial. Included in the portfolio is business brokering, which encompasses both the buying and selling of businesses. Urban Link also undertakes the management of properties on behalf of the landlord, as well as handling procurement only leases. With an Urban Link franchise, emphasis on site location is crucial. The following factors are considered prior to opening a franchise in a specific territory: the number of residential/ commercial properties in the areas of operation, the location of competitors, population density, businesses in the area and regional growth. Market receptiveness to the establishment of a property and business brokerage franchise is determined by means of a market survey. Urban Link recommends initially employing four agents, each agent thus specialising in each niche market, with additional admin support to be employed as the business grows.
The Franchisee
The Franchisee should ideally be energetic and have a good feel for working in the property industry. It is crucial that applicants be fully literate as many aspects of business dealings require at least intermediate computer skills. Any prior experience in the property industry would be advantageous but is not necessary.
Branding and Marketing
Urban Link has worked hard to create a vibrant and modern brand that resonates with its clients. The brand is key and franchisees are required to use the Urban Brand Manual to ensure marketing consistency is achieved as the eye-catching brand expands nationally.
Online Presence
As more and more prospective clients are using the Internet as their starting point to search for homes and businesses, Urban Link understands how vital it is to promote ourselves online, drive high-quality traffic to the website and convert them into leads.
Training and Support
Urban Link Head Office prides itself on always being at hand to assist its franchisees and master franchisors. Apart from onging support, training is provided to ensure franchisees are fully equipped prior to opening the doors to their office. Urban Link also arranges quarterly regional franchise meetings where you are informed about changing legislation, performance targets, market strategies etc.
National Growth
Urban Link opened mid-July 2013 with 12 franchises nationally, and has experienced rapid growth since then. We are now represented in most of the provincial areas of South Africa.
